This programme is the required progression route from 7436 Counselling Skills for those seeking entry onto the Diploma in Counselling. The Counselling studies programme continues to build upon your counselling Skills alongside developing theoretical understanding of the three main approaches to counselling (Person Centred Experiential model. Cognitive Behavioural models and Psychodynamic traditions). The course will further explore ethical requirements for counsellors alongside an understanding of procedural issues for agency work and an emphasis on continued personal awareness within this holistic approach to training. This is a part time course 3 hours a week with a requirement for 10 hours of personal therapy (additional cost to the candidate). Assessment is through a range of techniques which will include essays, presentations, portfolios of evidence, case review, role play and agency research exam.
