This programme is the final step in becoming a qualified counsellor. The focus of this programme is to continue to develop your self-awareness, challenge any stereotypes and pre-conceived notions, to develop your counselling skills and to support you while you undertake your 100-hours of voluntary placement. We continue to explore ethical and legal requirements for counsellors alongside an understanding of procedural issues for agency work. This is a part time course, 6 hours per week (one full day in college) and also requires the learner to undertake personal therapy, 100-hours voluntary placement and supervision in line with BACP requirements. Assessment is through a range of techniques which will include essays, presentations, portfolios of evidence, case reviews, role plays and an exam at the end of the 2nd year of study.
